Katherine Hamilton

Katherine is Chair of 38 North Solutions. In this role, Katherine has been listed on the #Solar100 board by kWh Analytics and received a Cleanie Award as Entrepreneur of the Year. Katherine has led several councils of the World Economic Forum as a global policy and technology thought leader and is currently Co-Chair of the Global Future Council on Clean Electrification.

Katherine served as President of the GridWise Alliance, advocating for nearly $5 billion in funding for smart grid projects in the Recovery Act. Prior to that role, Katherine was a policy advisor for Good Energies, Inc., a private investment company with a portfolio in clean energy technologies of nearly $6 billion. She co-directed the American Bioenergy Association, working with the states of Maryland and New Jersey to develop renewable portfolio standards. At the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Katherine led buildings research and then managed government relations in Washington, DC. Katherine spent a decade at Virginia Power, designing overhead and underground electrical systems for commercial and residential developments. Katherine studied electrical engineering at Northern Virginia Community College and holds degrees from Cornell University and the Sorbonne. Blessed to grow up in some of the most extraordinary regions of Central and Northern California, four waters has a deeply rooted love for the beauty, awe, power, and connectedness of our natural world. four waters is President of four waters media, inc., a consulting firm that specializes in political campaigns, public relations, communications strategies, presentation graphics, social media, and print materials. She is devoted to empowering grassroots organizers to become more politically and socially strategically effective. She has trained across California, with a special focus on rural communities, and women who are just stepping into their political power.

Recently four waters founded California Rural Voice, a non-profit whose mission it is “to meaningfully enhance, support, and strengthen the quality of life for communities and families, throughout Rural California, through collaboration, organization, education, and advocacy.” four remains inspired by her love of creativity, and driven to help people create opportunity, foster respect, and live with dignity. She will ever be dedicated to keeping our remarkable planet a place of beauty, recreation, sustenance, and wonder — to be shared by all long into the future. And, of course, she continues to be committed to the success of her fabulous clients.
